As I took this photo on the way back from Alabama today, I imagined myself playing The 25,000 Pyramid.
Nipsey Russell: "Alcohol...Gasoline...Explosives..."
Shaun Townley: Uh...things that should never be sold together?
(DING, APPLAUSE)
Nipsey Russell: Yes!

Two videos you've probably already seen
Without the internet, we would miss so much in this world that we're now privileged enough to experience. I submit two very odd, yet very compelling videos for your viewing pleasure. If you haven't seen them already, I predict you will...everywhere. Thanks to Canon and Boing Boing for introducing them to me.
"Thriller" performed by inmates at a prison in the Philippines
A young man named Martin Leung playing the entire score of Super Mario Brothers on the piano

Ryan Adams was included on my 'best of 2004' list. I'm a fan. His latest record, Easy Tiger, is quite good as well. If you're a fan too or you're interested in hearing more, try this live show from just last week. You can download the whole thing or select a few tracks from the internet archive.

Extras & Rescue Me
I know I'm late to the game on this one, but we JUST got HBO for the first time and I'm really enjoying catching up with Extras. I'd seen most of the first season and I'm thrilled with the second. The CPMs are way up. Oh, sorry, that's cringes per minute.
Also, this season of Rescue Me started a few weeks ago and it's as good as ever. Unbelievably funny scene this week with Tommy & Janet seeing a marriage counselor.

Transformers...ROLL OUT!
I'm planning to see Transformers this weekend. If you've got a notion to do the same, be sure to read John Swansburg's article over on Slate.com about the original animated Transformers movie which also includes a link to the music video for Stan Bush's "The Touch" video. Is it me or does he look a bit like Viggo Mortenson with a wig?
For those of you in the know, be sure to do a forward roll for old time's sake as you listen to this one.
