Sweet Tea

One of the things I really missed while I was living up north is sweet tea. I've ordered it at every opportunity since moving back in June (and my tendency towards drinking five or more glasses in one sitting amuses my co-workers to no end). I recommend this great article from Slate.com on sweet tea that I saw posted on a bulletin board at Two Squares A Day restaurant in Chattanooga. Also, on the same subject, check out this study.

duuuuuuuuuuude, dontcha think it's a wee bit too sweet? I know that's the idea, but c'mon, that's a lot of sugar, especially for one sitting. I prefer 1 part sweet tea, 2 parts unsweetened tea.

Dave, come on...of COURSE you think it's too sweet. You JUST moved to North Carolina. Give it a few years...you'll come around.

ok, I'll reserve judgment for few more years...although by that time my teeth will have rotted and I'll be forced to enjoy my sweet tea through a straw :)
